Changes in Law Concerning the Treatment of Animals
All Healers should be made aware of these changes as it's now illegal to treat animals if you do not hold a recognised Veterinarian qualification, although SOME alternative healing is allowed so long as the animal has been seen by a qualified vet and the vet and family agree to spiriual healing alongside any medical treatment that animal may need. It has always been illegal to withhold Veterinary treatment from any animal in need of care. AUHS healers are trained solely for Spiritual Healing on Human Beings not animals. BALENS therefore can not insure faith/spiritual healers for animal treatment as the course through AHA does not cover this aspect of healing.
Two clauses in the new act state the following:-
17. All other forms of complementary therapy in the treatment of animals, including homoeopathy, must be administered by veterinary surgeons. It is illegal, in terms of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, for lay practitioners however qualified in the human field, to treat animals. At the same time it is incumbent on veterinary surgeons offering any complementary therapy to ensure that they are adequately trained in its application.
The above clause means AUHS healers are not qualified to treat animals unless they have some form of external qualification accepted within the Veterinary Surgenons Act 1966.
18. Faith healers are required in terms of the Code of Practice of the Confederation of Healing Organisations, to ensure that animals have been seen by a veterinary surgeon who is content for healing to be given by the laying on of hands.
But that doesn't mean you are insured to heal the animal through BALENS unless you undertake a relevant course for animal treatment and seek the necessary insurance from specialists other than BALENS. You would need to be enabled to prove you hold such insurance and qualification if asked of course.

Advise to AUHS Healers is still that you are neither insured nor qualified to treat animals through AHA and BALENS even using only Spiritual Healing.
